Modi and trump

The one time labour party mp and now right wing propagator lord Meghnad Desai's book equating Narendra Modi and the american mistake (perhaps worst mistake) Donald Trump is confusing.
In the tv discussion although everyone was in praise of the book and the lord, I found it is unbelievable. Meghnad Desai can not be ignorant of the semantics of the title, so his insinuation that the traits that elected Prime minister Modi and Donald trump are same and Mr. Modi and liberal ideals stand as binary as in the case trump are little too farfetched from reality and are an atrocious act from a British MP and a supposedly BJP's right wing supporter.
Although RSS and its fringe outlets may have created fundamentalist mayhem in this country including heinous "cow vigilante" lynching, but except for selected BJP leaders, Prime minister Modi as prime minister, other than his nationalistic streak so far has not exhibited any bigotry or acted in any manner that deserve him to be compared with as horrible person as Donald trump.
The fact is he is yet to match the left of the centre's political idol Indira Gandhi in her worst performance of declaring emergency, destabilising federal system of elected state governments, use of article 356 and undermining constitutional institutions.
So this insinuation from his one time political mentor now looks like his political harbinger is amusing.
