Ahmedabad on a rain day. Finally Parting ways with a city I loved.
A six hundred year old city, where Gandhi has had an ashram and never came back, a city of textile known as manchester of east, a city where "Sewa' was born under largest textiles workers union and Anasuya Sarabhai, a city where first design school, architecture college and management institute in the country was born, a city gave us Vikram Sarabhai and so many modernist architectures that are sill maintained, a city where India's first Montessori school in the country - Sreyas foundation was established, a city that gave us B V Doshi and Ela bhatt, a city with 11 stone cut mosques of Indian tradition, a city that boasts so many different architecture of different times and different nationality, a city that loves dance, music and fafda, jalebi along with italian foods, a city of sweet talkers and nice people. I do not want to remember anything bad about because it is a complicated city with many layers seen and unseen, let me stick to the seen. Ahmedabad a wonderful city i lived. Good bye. Oh I forgot to mention- a city that responded to Indira Gandhi's emergency with navnirman movement and it is the land of cutting chai for kitlee - a gujarati derivative from 13709931_10157063114580386_201889327430830780_n.jpg
